World Book Day is coming soon and Dubray Books, located on the ground floor at Market Cross, are getting involved!
Dubray Books are delighted to be celebrating WORLD BOOK DAY on 3rd March 2011. This is now firmly established as Ireland’s biggest annual event promoting the enjoyment of books and reading and offers an invaluable opportunity for thousands of schoolchildren to visit their local bookshop, buy a book with their voucher and discover for themselves the wonderful pleasure of reading.
To make their visit all the more memorable, each Dubray Books branch have organised special competitions, author readings and entertainment for visiting schoolchildren. These include a Children’s Art Gallery in Dubray Books Kilkenny, Marilyn Taylor reading in Dubray Books Rathmines, a ‘Beast Quest’ competition in Stillorgan or Ken Bruen trying out his new children’s tale in Dubray Books Galway. As always, we are happy to redeem the €1.50 World Book Day Book tokens given to Irish schoolchildren and this year there are seven World Book Day ‘Flip’ books to choose from – including Danny’s Smelly Toothbrush/ Fiacla Mhamó by Brianóg Brady Dawson – an Irish/ English dual language book from O’Brien Press. The books are all priced €1.50. All branches also have the new range of Quick Reads in stock to appeal to adults who want to rediscover the thrill of a new book.
All week long at Dubray Books at Market Cross there will be a Colouring Competition – display your entry on the ‘Art Gallery’ while on March 3rd there will be a Schools Book Quiz for visiting classes from 10am.
